Lucero Biography

Lucero Biography

Lucero Biography - Lucero (born Lucero Hogaza León on August 29, 1969) is a Mexican actress and singer. She started her career at the age of 10 as Lucerito. She is currently separated from singer Manuel Mijares, with whom she has two children. Her mother, actress and producer Luz María León Sauvinet, was her manager until recent times.

Lucero started her career at the age of ten as Lucerito in the children's television series Alegrías De Mediodía and Chiquilladas, where she starred with artist Carlos Espejel. One of her more popular roles was in a Popeye skit as Olive Oyl. She later would share the spotlight with international artist Thalía in the singing competition Juguemos a Cantar.

Her long hair and beauty helped her obtain starring roles the following year in the film Coqueta, alongside singer and actor Pedro Fernández. Later, she would be cast as the star of the telenovela Chispita, which also led to the recording of an album that same year. Curiously enough with the emergence of Lucerito as a singer, she did not record the theme song for the telenovela. Instead that task was given to Timbiriche, the most popular "juvenile" group in Mexico.

Lucero released her first debut album, Él, on Discos Musart in 1982. This album was largely written and produced by Sergio Andrade, the man who would later become infamous in the Gloria Trevi controversy. During this period, Lucerito's records were more novelty material than actual records as they were seen as nothing more than merchandise for people who loved Lucerito's cutesy charm. That would all change in 1985 when she released her album Magia.

Magia was a change in style, opting for more teen-oriented pop music. With this record, she gained her first real hit with Fuego y ternura, written by singer/songwriter Prisma. The song was successful across Mexico and Latin America. She recorded Un Pedacito De Mí, her last album for Discos Musart, in 1986. That same year she left Sergio Andrade's management and went to Discos Melody. Lucero did not promote this album, which ultimately flopped.

In early 1987 she released Lucerito (later re-released as Ocho Quince), her Discos Melody Records debut. The album was a huge success and brought her to the realms of Mexican pop music where she now competed with teen pop acts at the time such as Timbiriche, Sasha Sokol, Luis Miguel, Tatiana, Chayanne, Karina, and Flans. In 1989 She released "Cuentame", one of the most successful pop albums of the end of decade.

In 1989, after six albums and five films, she changed her professional name to Lucero as a symbol of her growth as a woman of 20 years of age. In 1990, she returned to television starring in Cuando llega el Amor, where she sang the theme song and won The TVyNovelas Award for Best Actress. She won the award again in 1994 for Los Parientes Pobres. In 1996, on, she won the TVyNovelas Award Best Actress award for playing triplets in Lazos de Amor.

In 1992, Lucero was in a Head & Shoulders commercial, only seen in Mexico, and other Spanish-speaking stations. In 1993, Lucero released 'Veleta', one of her most important singles, that charted 5 weeks on #1 moving Mexican Luis Miguel to second place.

Her wedding in 1997 was called the wedding of the year and was televised on Televisa in Mexico and Univision in the United States.

She later starred in a telenovela of Televisa titled, Alborada. After her role in this soap opera, Lucero began to record her next album in the spring of 2006. She released Quiereme Tal Como Soy in September 2006. Her last promototion was the live record "Lucero En Vivo Auditorio Nacional", and she has been in the commercial of Olay Total Effects (2008) as herself. She is currently filming Soy Tu Dueña a remake of the 1995 novela "La Dueña". It was known to be a hit. Critics said she was back on the spotlight. In Soy Tu Duena she plays Valentina Villalba. Along with Fernando Colunga. In October 2010 has released 'Indispensable', a pop album.

On March 4, 2011 after 14 years of marriage, Lucero and Mijares announced their separation.

Albert Einstein Biography

Albert Einstein Biography

Albert Einstein was born on March 14, 1879 in Württemberg, Germany and died on April 18, 1955 in Princeton, New Jersey, USA. He is a theoretical physicist who is widely regarded as the greatest scientist in the 20th century. He put forward the theory of relativity and also greatly contributed to the development of quantum mechanics, statistical mechanics, and cosmology. He was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1921 for his explanation of the photoelectric effect and “for his services to Theoretical Physics”. Having formulated the theory of general relativity, Einstein became famous throughout the world, an unusual achievement for a scientist. In his old age, his fame exceeded the fame of all scientists in history, and in popular culture, says Einstein is considered synonymous with intelligence or even genius. His face is one of the most known around the world.

In 1999, Einstein called the “People of the Century” by Time magazine. Popularity also makes the name “Einstein” is widely used in advertisements and other merchandise, and finally “Albert Einstein” registered as trademark. To appreciate them, a unit in the photochemical named Einstein, a chemical element named einsteinium, and a named asteroid 2001 Einstein.

Albert Einstein’s Youth
Einstein was born in Ulm in Württemberg, Germany, about 100 km east of Stuttgart. His father named Hermann Einstein, a salesman feather bed which then undergo electrochemical work, and his mother was Pauline. They were married in Stuttgart-Bad Cannstatt. Their family was Jewish; Albert schooled in Catholic school and the wishes of his mother he was given violin lessons. At age five, his father showed him a pocket compass, and Einstein realized that something in space that “empty” acted upon the needle; he later described this experience as one of the most evocative moment in his life.

He was later given an award for his theory of relativity by thinking in space and time. Of the other children, he was able to develop better intelligence. Another opinion, in the news lately, about his mental development, he suffered from Asperger’s Syndrome, a condition associated with autism.

Einstein began to study mathematics at the age of twelve. There are rumors that he failed in mathematics in his education, but this is not true; replacement in the assessment to be confused in the following year. Two of his uncles helped develop interest in the intellectual world during the last part of his childhood and early adolescence by providing suggestions and books on science and mathematics. In 1894, due to the failure of his father’s electrochemical business, Einstein moved from Munich to Pavia, Italy (near Milan). Albert stayed behind to finish school, finish a semester before rejoining his family in Pavia. Failure in the liberal arts in the entrance test Eidgenössische Technische Hochschule (Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, in Zurich) in the next year is a step backwards, he by his family sent to Aarau, Switzerland, to finish high school, where he received a diploma in 1896, Einstein several times to register at the Eidgenössische Technische Hochschule. The following year he took off Württemberg citizenship, and become stateless.
In 1898, Einstein met and fell in love with Mileva Maric, a Serb who is a classmate (also a friend of Nikola Tesla). In 1900, he was awarded a degree to teach by the Eidgenössische Technische Hochschule and accepted as a Swiss citizen in 1901. During this time Einstein discussed his interest in science to his close friends, including Mileva. He and Mileva had a daughter named Lieserl, born in January 1902. Lieserl, at that time, deemed illegal because the parents are not married.

At the time of graduation Einstein could not find a teaching job. Einstein was a classmate helped him obtain a job as a technical assistant examiner at the Swiss Patent Office 1902. There, Einstein assess the inventor patent applications for devices that require physics. He also learned to recognize the importance of application compared with a poor explanation, and learning from the director how “to explain himself properly.” He is sometimes correct their design and also evaluate the practicality of their work. Einstein married Mileva on 6 January 1903. Einstein’s marriage to Mileva, a mathematician, is the personal companion and cleverness; On May 14, 1904, the couple’s first child, Hans Albert Einstein, was born. In 1904, Einstein’s position at the Swiss Patent Office to be fixed. He earned his doctorate after submitting the thesis “Neue Bestimmung der eine Moleküldimensionen” (“On a new determination of molecular dimensions”) in 1905 from the University of Zürich.

In the same year he wrote four articles that provide the foundation of modern physics, without much scientific literature that he can appoint or many colleagues in science that he can discuss about the theory. Most physicists agree that three of those papers (on Brownian motion), the photoelectric effect and special relativity) deserved Nobel Prizes. Only the paper on the photoelectric effect would win one. This is ironic, not only because Einstein is far better known for relativity, but also because the photoelectric effect is a quantum phenomenon and Einstein became free from the street in quantum theory. What makes these papers remarkable is that, in each case, Einstein boldly took an idea from theoretical physics to its logical consequences and managed to explain experimental results that had baffled scientists for decades. He submitted a thesis-thesis to the “Annalen der Physik”. They are usually addressed to “Annus Mirabilis Papers” (from Latin: In excellent). Union of Pure and Applied Physics (IUPAP) plans to celebrate 100 years of the publication of Einstein’s work in 1905 as the Year of Physics, 2005.

Brownian motion
In the first article in 1905 called “On the Motion Required by the Molecular Kinetic Theory of Heat of Small particles Suspended in a Stationary Liquid”, includes research on Brownian motion. Using the kinetic theory of fluids at the time was controversial, he determined that the phenomenon, which still lack a satisfactory explanation decades after his after he was first observed, provided empirical evidence (based on observation and experimentation) the reality of atoms. And also lend confidence in statistical mechanics, which at that time also controversial. Prior to this thesis, the atom is known as a began concept, but physicists and chemists hotly debated whether atoms really a tangible object. Einstein’s statistical discussion of atomic behavior gave players a way to calculate the experimental atom just by looking through the ordinary microscope. Wilhelm Ostwald, a leader of the anti-atom school, later told Arnold Sommerfeld that he had converted to complete Einstein’s explanation of Brownian motion.

Gregor Johann Mendel Biography

Born :

Heinzendorf bei Odrau, Austrian Empire, current Czech Republic

Died :
January 6, 1884 (aged 61)
Brno, Moravia, Austria-Hungary

Nationality :
Empire of Austria-Hungary

Genetics

Abbey of St. Thomas in Brno

Alma mater :
University of Olomouc
University of Vienna

Known for :
Discovering genetics

Mendel was born into an ethnic German family in Heinzendorf bei Odrau, Austrian Silesia, Austrian Empire (now Hynčice, Czech Republic), and was baptized two days later as Johann. He was the son of Anton and Rosine (Schwirtlich) Mendel, and had one older sister (Veronica) and one younger (Theresia). They lived and worked on a farm which had been owned by the Mendel family for at least 130 years.During his childhood, Mendel worked as a gardener, studied beekeeping, and as a young man attended Gymnasium (school) in Opava. Later, from 1840 to 1843, he studied practical and theoretical philosophy as well as physics at the University of Olomouc Faculty of Philosophy, taking a year off through illness. When Mendel entered the Faculty of Philosophy, the Department of Natural History and Agriculture was headed by Johann Karl Nestler, who conducted extensive research of hereditary traits of plants and animals, especially sheep. In 1843 Mendel began his training as a priest. Upon recommendation of his physics teacher Friedrich Franz, he entered the Augustinian Abbey of St Thomas in Brno in 1843. Born Johann Mendel, he took the name Gregor upon entering religious life. In 1851 he was sent to the University of Vienna to study under the sponsorship of Abbot C. F. Napp. At Vienna, his professor of physics was Christian Doppler. Mendel returned to his abbey in 1853 as a teacher, principally of physics, and by 1867, he had replaced Napp as abbot of the monastery.

Besides his work on plant breeding while at St Thomas's Abbey, Mendel also bred bees in a bee house that was built for him, using bee hives that he designed. He also studied astronomy and meteorology, founding the 'Austrian Meteorological Society' in 1865. The majority of his published works were related to meteorology.

Experiments on plant hybridization
Gregor Mendel, who is known as the "father of modern genetics", was inspired by both his professors at the University of Olomouc (i.e. Friedrich Franz & Johann Karl Nestler) and his colleagues at the monastery (i.e. Franz Diebl) to study variation in plants, and he conducted his study in the monastery's two hectare experimental garden, which was originally planted by the abbot Napp in 1830.[5] Between 1856 and 1863 Mendel cultivated and tested some 29,000 pea plants (i.e., Pisum sativum). This study showed that one in four pea plants had purebred recessive alleles, two out of four were hybrid and one out of four were purebred dominant. His experiments led him to make two generalizations, the Law of Segregation and the Law of Independent Assortment, which later became known as Mendel's Laws of Inheritance.

Mendel did read his paper, Versuche über Pflanzenhybriden (Experiments on Plant Hybridization), at two meetings of the Natural History Society of Brünn in Moravia in 1865. It was received favorably and generated reports in several local newspapers. When Mendel's paper was published in 1866 in Verhandlungen des naturforschenden Vereins Brünn,[9] it was seen as essentially about hybridization rather than inheritance and had little impact and was cited about three times over the next thirty-five years. (Notably, Charles Darwin was unaware of Mendel's paper, according to Jacob Bronowski's The Ascent of Man.) His paper was criticized at the time, but is now considered a seminal work.

Life after the pea experiments
After Mendel completed his work with peas, he turned to experimenting with honeybees, in order to extend his work to animals. He produced a hybrid strain (so vicious they were destroyed), but failed to generate a clear picture of their heredity because of the difficulties in controlling mating behaviours of queen bees. He also described novel plant species, and these are denoted with the botanical author abbreviation "Mendel".

After he was elevated as abbot in 1868, his scientific work largely ended as Mendel became consumed with his increased administrative responsibilities, especially a dispute with the civil government over their attempt to impose special taxes on religious institutions. At first Mendel's work was rejected, and it was not widely accepted until after he died. At that time most biologists held the idea of blending inheritance, and Charles Darwin's efforts to explain inheritance through a theory of pangenesis were unsuccessful. Mendel's ideas were rediscovered in the early twentieth century, and in the 1930s and 1940s the modern synthesis combined Mendelian genetics with Darwin's theory of natural selection.

Mendel died on January 6, 1884, at age 61, in Brno, Moravia, Austria-Hungary (now Czech Republic), from chronic nephritis. Czech composer Leoš Janáček played the organ at his funeral. After his death the succeeding abbot burned all papers in Mendel's collection, to mark an end to the disputes over taxation.

Rediscovery of Mendel's work
Dominant and recessive phenotypes. Parental generation. F1 generation. F2 generation.

It was not until the early 20th century that the importance of his ideas was realized. By 1900, research aimed at finding a successful theory of discontinuous inheritance rather than blending inheritance led to independent duplication of his work by Hugo de Vries and Carl Correns, and the rediscovery of Mendel's writings and laws. Both acknowledged Mendel's priority, and it is thought probable that de Vries did not understand the results he had found until after reading Mendel. Though Erich von Tschermak was originally also credited with rediscovery, this is no longer accepted because he did not understand Mendel's laws. Though de Vries later lost interest in Mendelism, other biologists started to establish genetics as a science.

Mendel's results were quickly replicated, and genetic linkage quickly worked out. Biologists flocked to the theory, even though it was not yet applicable to many phenomena, it sought to give a genotypic understanding of heredity which they felt was lacking in previous studies of heredity which focused on phenotypic approaches. Most prominent of these latter approaches was the biometric school of Karl Pearson and W.F.R. Weldon, which was based heavily on statistical studies of phenotype variation. The strongest opposition to this school came from William Bateson, who perhaps did the most in the early days of publicising the benefits of Mendel's theory (the word "genetics", and much of the discipline's other terminology, originated with Bateson). This debate between the biometricians and the Mendelians was extremely vigorous in the first two decades of the twentieth century, with the biometricians claiming statistical and mathematical rigor, whereas the Mendelians claimed a better understanding of biology. In the end, the two approaches were combined as the modern synthesis of evolutionary biology, especially by work conducted by R. A. Fisher as early as 1918.

Mendel's experimental results have later been the object of considerable dispute.Fisher analyzed the results of the F2 (second filial) ratio and found them to be implausibly close to the exact ratio of 3 to 1.Only a few would accuse Mendel of scientific malpractice or call it a scientific fraud—reproduction of his experiments has demonstrated the validity of his hypothesis—however, the results have continued to be a mystery for many, though it is often cited as an example of confirmation bias. This might arise if he detected an approximate 3 to 1 ratio early in his experiments with a small sample size, and continued collecting more data until the results conformed more nearly to an exact ratio. It is sometimes suggested that he may have censored his results, and that his seven traits each occur on a separate chromosome pair, an extremely unlikely occurrence if they were chosen at random. In fact, the genes Mendel studied occurred in only four linkage groups, and only one gene pair (out of 21 possible) is close enough to show deviation from independent assortment; this is not a pair that Mendel studied. Some recent researchers have suggested that Fisher's criticisms of Mendel's work may have been exaggerated.
